I eagerly awoke on Wednesday morning for my first Active Safety Drive Day. Upon my arrival I was greeted by a row of cars from the Mercedes-Benz range. Cars included ML, GL, E Wagon, S-Class, B200 Turbo and the New C280.
Peter Hackett our group instructor for the day greeted us and spent around an hour talking to us about Mercedes-Benz safety and general driving techniques.

After the chat from Peter, we moved into groups of 3 and 4 people the practical activities began. These included: taking the CLS500 on the skid pad, taking the new C280 around Eastern Creek, performing emergency stops at 60km/h, 80km/h and 100km/h,
performing emergency lane changes at 80km/h, performing emergency braking without the assistance of ABS at 60 km/h and 80km/h and looping in and out of witches hats at 60km/h and 80km/h

The Active Safety Experience was overall a very informative day and has re-confirmed my strong belief in the Mercedes-Benz range. From the small A-Class through to the CLS500.
