Our History

Sanny Morrison founded Morrison Motors Pty Ltd in 1970, commencing business as a Mercedes-Benz Dealer at the current Chatswood site with eight staff.

His new dealership was the culmination of a long career in the motor industry working in sales, sales management, dealership management and vehicle importation, distribution and wholesaling.

The '80s
Sanny leased the site from the previous owners until 1980. He then purchased the property and an adjoining house which was converted into a used car lot. At that time we had grown to almost twenty staff. In 1989 Morrisons secured a lease on a new warehouse in Hotham Parade, Artarmon, fitting it out as a purpose-built Service and Parts Centre which opened for business in September of that year. Then renovation and expansion of our Chatswood Showroom and Head Office began. The workshop and parts areas were incorporated into a new and much larger showroom. This redevelopment was completed in August of 1990. By this time Morrisons had over thirty employees.

The '90s
In late 1990, the Mercedes-Benz Dealer at Waitara retired, selling his business. We were granted the Upper North Shore as part of our Prime Market Area and immediately opened a Service and Parts Centre at Hornsby.

Into the 21st century
We have built a new state-of-the-art showroom in Chatswood which incorporates sales, service finance and parts departments under the one roof. The showroom is designed in the German Autohaus style.
